A woman's lifetime risk of developing breast cancer is 12-13%, and this doesn't vary for every woman.

Women with certain conditions are more likely to develop breast cancer.

These women are:
1. Those with a family history of breast cancer,
2. Those with a specific genetic (hereditary) condition,
3. Those with specific pathological conditions (atypia, etc.) detected in previous breast biopsies,
4. Those currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer,
5. Those who have received radiation therapy to the chest area for various conditions between the ages of 10 and 30.

Breast cancer screening for these women should be tailored more closely to their personal and family histories.
