Breast discharge becomes important depending on the type of discharge. Persistent discharge from the nipple that looks like blood or spoiled blood (red wine color) may be a sign of breast cancer and should be examined. The yellow-green fluid that comes from the nipple from time to time is usually accompanied by fibrocystic changes and is not very important. If there is discharge from the nipple, a doctor's check-up, microscopic examination of the cells in this discharge and, if necessary, galactography showing the milk ducts should be performed.
Is it important to have discharge from the nipple?
